The Big Avocado Roll 2026
About this event
The Big Avocado Roll is Los Angeles' largest annual inline (rollerblade) skate festival — a full week of free, community-led street skates that draws bladers from across the country and around the world to roll through the city's most iconic neighborhoods. The 2026 edition runs Monday, September 28 through Sunday, October 4, 2026, with a different host crew and route each night across Greater Los Angeles. The published program opens Monday 9/28 with the Sweet Valley Rollers skate from North Hollywood toward Downtown LA (meet 7:45 PM at the North Hollywood Metro station, 5350 Lankershim Blvd), followed by The Night Skate through DTLA on Tuesday 9/29 (8:00 PM, meet at the Hollywood Metro, 6815 Hollywood Blvd), a Long Beach roll on Wednesday 9/30 (8:00 PM, meet at the Main Lot, 380 E Shoreline Dr), a Beverly Hills skate led by the LA Skate Hunnies on Thursday 10/1 (8:00 PM, meet at the Beverly Hills sign, 9400 S Santa Monica Blvd), and a Santa Monica skate led by FNS on Friday 10/2 (gather 6:30 PM, rollout 8:00 PM at Santa Monica City Hall, 1685 Main St) with a 21+ after-party at Santa Monica Brew Works. Saturday 10/3 is the community hub day: a midday Workshop, Social Party & Raffle from 12–3 PM at Lemon Loft LA (1648 S La Cienega Blvd) featuring slalom and wizard-skating workshops, skate dancing, vendors, food and drinks, and a raffle with skates and gear prizes, then an evening ~12-mile DTLA night skate led by Jennyx (rollout 8:00 PM from The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, 152 N Central Ave). The week closes Sunday 10/4 with the 'Piles of Miles' morning distance skate (8:45 AM from Santa Monica City Hall), a beach skate at Ocean View Park in Santa Monica (1:00 PM), and an evening roll from Venice's Windward Plaza to a bonfire at Dockweiler Beach. Most roll-outs are pitched at an intermediate-to-advanced level and are free and open to anyone who shows up on skates; participants are responsible for their own safety gear, lights for night skates, and pace. Skate shops, plazas and pump tracks around the city — including the Venice Beach Skate Park and Plaza and the Inglewood Pump Track — host alternative sessions throughout the week. This record documents the upcoming 2026 festival; meet spots, host crews and exact times can shift, so confirm each night on the official site and the event's Facebook and Instagram before heading out.
