About this event
Friday Night Skate - Santa Monica / Venice is a weekly Friday-night urban inline and roller skate along the Santa Monica and Venice beachfront, organized through the Southern California Urban Inline/Roller Skating Meetup group. The organizer says the skate has been running for more than 20 years and happens every Friday at 9:00 PM. The September 25, 2026 occurrence meets in front of Santa Monica City Hall (City of Santa Monica, 1685 Main Street); participants are told to look for the people on skates by City Hall, and the published event window is 9:00-11:00 PM PDT. The organizer describes an intermediate session covering roughly 10-15 miles of skating and encourages skaters to bring as many friends as they can. Attendance is free and the Meetup Attend action was open at verification; no capacity, RSVP cutoff, waitlist, walk-up rule, age minimum, guardian requirement or event waiver is published. The exact route, pace, regroup stops, turnaround point and return-to-start guarantee are not posted. Skate supplies are available through the affiliated Knight Skate shop, and more discussion happens in the organizer's Facebook group. Because this is a moving night route on public streets and beach paths, bring lights and protective gear and confirm the meeting details on the exact Meetup occurrence before travel. No event-specific equipment mandate, weather threshold, cancellation policy, accessibility service, livestream, competition format or results applies or is announced.
