About this event
The Maine Principals' Association (MPA) Class B Alpine State Championships come to the St. John Valley for the 2026-27 season. The MPA Ski Committee has approved a two-day championship on February 22-23, 2027, with Day 1 Giant Slalom hosted at Lonesome Pine Trails in Fort Kent — Maine's northernmost ski area — and Day 2 Slalom at Big Rock in Mars Hill. Boys' and girls' Class B high school alpine teams from across Maine race two runs in each discipline for individual and team state titles. This is a sanctioned interscholastic championship: athletes reach it through their high school teams and MPA qualification, not public sign-up. Spectating at the hill is welcome. Lonesome Pine Trails also advertises hosting the 2027 High School County & State Class B Championship on its own events page.
