San Diego BMX closes its two-race charity week with a USA BMX-sanctioned Bob Warnicke Scholarship single-point race on Friday, October 2. The organizer's current event flyer and USA BMX listing agree on practice and on-site registration from 5:30 to 6:45 PM, followed by racing at 7:00 PM at the Armstrong Street track behind Kearny Mesa Recreation Center. All entry-fee money from Friday's race goes to the Bob Warnicke Scholarship Fund, which helps USA BMX and BMX Canada members pursue undergraduate education, trade school and other educational paths. The organizer is replacing normal awards with participation certificates for riders during charity week. The exact entry fee, class sheet, balance-bike availability, number of motos, capacity, awards timing and finish time are not published. San Diego BMX says riders need a current USA BMX membership, pants, a long-sleeve shirt and a helmet; the nationwide one-day trial exists, but this race's eligibility for that trial is not stated, so first-time riders should contact the track before traveling. The track currently accepts cash or check rather than credit cards. Spectator admission, seating guarantees, livestream and rain-date details are not published. Check @sandiegobmxracing on race day for schedule or weather changes.
