Teton Gravity Research brings its 31st annual ski-and-snowboard film, “Actually, It Is Rocket Science,” to downtown Laguna Beach for a free outdoor Coast Film & Music Festival night at the Laguna Beach Promenade on Thursday, October 22, 2026. TGR’s exact event listing now confirms the feature starts at 6:30 PM PDT and says admission is free to the public—no ticket, RSVP, competitor registration, entry fee, or published capacity is shown. The feature screens alongside short films, live music, food, and drinks throughout the evening; the organizer has not published an end time, full running order, music lineup, food pricing, seating plan, age policy, accessibility instructions, weather/cancellation policy, or parking validation, so attendees should recheck the official listing before traveling. The open-air Promenade on Forest occupies Forest Avenue between Coast Highway and Glenneyre Street. TGR’s 2026 film follows 28 elite skiers and snowboarders across British Columbia, Haines, Japan, Finland, Andorra, Montana, Jay Peak, and Jackson Hole, using big-mountain lines, gaps, transitions, speed, gravity, instinct, and consequence as its tongue-in-cheek “rocket science” laboratory. This is a public spectator premiere, not a competition, and Laguna Beach is within the inventory’s core Orange County region.
