About this event

The Scholastic Surf Series Orange County High School division brings its third 2026–27 regular-season contest to San Clemente Pier on Saturday, November 14, 2026. The current first-party schedule confirms the date and venue, and the live OCHS division-times document publishes a 26-heat program from 8:00 AM through a 2:30 PM competition finish, followed by awards at 2:45 PM. Six school teams fill 14 competition spots each across Boys’ Shortboard, Boys’ Longboard, Girls’ Shortboard, Girls’ Longboard and coed Bodyboard. Team-versus-team heats open the program; individual rounds begin at noon. The separate team-draw document currently names only the completed October 3 and October 24 matchups, so November 14 pairings remain unconfirmed and are not inferred. Competitors must be full-time students in grades 9–12 at the represented school, hold at least a 2.0 GPA and receive coach plus parent/guardian approval. The current registration portal remains live. The main team forms-and-fees deadline was September 21, but SSS says athletes may join before the final regular-season contest when team space remains; the live roster page requires contest rosters by 6:00 PM on the Wednesday before each contest. Families should therefore contact their team coach immediately rather than assume either open inventory or closure. Published season pricing is an $85 student membership plus a $2,600 Orange County High School team fee; each school decides the amount charged to an individual surfer. Walk-up contest entry is not announced. Standard heats are 15 minutes, permit up to eight ridden waves and count the best two scores. Competitors must use division-compliant boards and wear the official contest jersey in the competition area; no board caddying or water assist is allowed. Spectating from the public beach does not have an announced event ticket, but the organizer has not published a designated viewing zone. The City lists ADA access, restrooms, concessions, a train station and metered Pier Bowl parking. SSS has not yet published the contest side/tower, team check-in point, November 14 pairings, current roster, weather-call time, swell threshold or backup date. Recheck the official schedule, heat document, roster and coach instructions before travel.
