Desiree Melancon

Desiree Melancon is a professional snowboarder featured in 'Bittersweet: An Exploration of Dreams,' the full-length film released by Slush The Magazine on November 20, 2024 (premiered November 2 at Skullcandy HQ), riding alongside Egan Wint, Sierra Forcheimer, Bode Merrill, and others, with support from Volcom Snow, Salomon Snowboards, Autumn Headwear, and ThirtyTwo. She is also a multidisciplinary artist: she wrote, narrated, and animated the 2018 short 'Fait Accompli' with filmmaker Marc O'Malley, a project blending poetry, imagery, and snowboarding, sponsored by ThirtyTwo, Salomon Snowboards, and Smith Optics. She has additionally written a personal essay for Slush aimed at opening up conversation around mental health in snowboarding.
