Ryland Bell is an Alaskan big-mountain snowboarder and commercial fisherman based year-round in Haines, Alaska, known for hiking world-class spine lines from his backyard under human power rather than relying on helicopter access. He is the subject of Patagonia's 2025 film 'Dig', a 28-minute documentary following his April 2025 expedition deep into his home mountains, where after roughly a month of waiting he bootpacked and rode an approximately 4,000-vertical-foot face at around 60 degrees. Bell called the descent 'hands down, unequivocally, the line of my life.'
