Travis Rice (born October 9, 1982, in Jackson Hole, Wyoming) is widely regarded as the defining figure of big-mountain freestyle snowboarding, called 'the Paul Revere of the big mountain freestyle movement' and named the world's best contemporary snowboarder by Red Bull in 2013. After breaking out at Superpark in 2001, he starred in landmark films including That's It That's All (2008), The Art of Flight (2011), The Fourth Phase (2016) and Dark Matter (2019), and won X Games gold in slopestyle (2002) and big air (2009). He created the Natural Selection Tour, the premier backcountry freestyle competition, winning its events in 2012 and 2023, and remains its driving force.
