About this event
Big Bear Mountain Resort packages the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday into a four-day skiing and snowboarding weekend across Snow Valley, Snow Summit and Bear Mountain, January 15-18, 2027. The current official guide publishes an overall 8:30 AM-8:30 PM daily event window, with operating terrain, lifts and individual activities still condition-dependent. Snow Valley and Snow Summit promote Night Sessions from 3:00-8:30 PM, requiring a dedicated Night Session lift ticket or a valid 2026/27 season pass. The complimentary Intermountain Shuttle connects Snow Summit and Bear Mountain from 10:00 AM-5:30 PM Friday through Monday; riders parked at Bear Mountain who stay for a Snow Summit night session must return to their vehicle before the last shuttle, then drive to Snow Summit, where upper-lot parking is free after 2:00 PM on reserved-parking days. Reserved upper-lot parking is paid, online-only and expected to sell out; offsite parking and shuttles are free at Snow Summit and Bear Mountain, while Snow Valley has no overflow accommodation after its lot fills. BBMR recommends allowing at least two hours for holiday traffic, parking and shuttle transfer. Lift tickets and other 2026/27 winter products are not yet on sale and are scheduled to launch in November 2026, so no current price or active event-ticket checkout is represented here. Ikon Pass, Ikon Base Pass, BBMR Anytime Pass and Snow Valley Anytime Pass have no holiday blackout for this weekend; Ikon Session passes are blacked out January 16-17. Children age 4 and under and adults age 80+ receive free ski/snowboard lift access at ticket windows with physical ID, without an advance reservation. Other weekend options include daily Coyote Creek and Grizzly Ridge snow tubing, a free all-ages Biggie the Bear meet-and-greet during separately scheduled appearance times, terrain parks, and a Snow Summit private suite for groups up to eight. Sports Basement also advertises select weekend buses from South Bay, Long Beach and Orange County at a currently stated $80 per seat per day, but its 2026/27 schedule and final pricing will be announced in November. All operations, terrain, activities, transport and hours can change for snow, weather, safety, maintenance, staffing or capacity; check the live mountain report and official social channels immediately before travel.
