About this event

Mammoth Mountain's 26/27 Opening Day launches the public winter season on Friday, November 13, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM at Main Lodge. The resort's official event page says Woolly will lead the annual first-chair and banner-breakthrough tradition, followed by a toast at the bottom of Broadway Express. The published window is confirmed, but Mammoth has not yet announced the opening lift and trail lineup, snowmaking minimums, the exact minute-by-minute ceremony schedule, or a weather contingency. Base-area celebration access has no separate advertised ticket; skiing or snowboarding requires a valid lift ticket, Ikon Pass, or other accepted season product. Winter lift tickets currently start at $89 per day, with dynamic pricing and limited quantities, so the price for November 13 must be confirmed during checkout. Mammoth Lakes is well outside the normal Los Angeles-area radius, but this event is retained under the inventory's narrow Mammoth exception: it is the marquee California destination-resort season opener, actively marketed to Southern California skiers and snowboarders. Guests should check the live Mountain Report before travel because terrain and operations depend on snow, wind, and other mountain conditions.
