About this event
Big Bear Mountain Resort marks the first holiday weekend of its 2026/27 winter season with an official four-day guide spanning Thanksgiving Day through Sunday, November 26-29. The guide covers Snow Valley, Snow Summit and Bear Mountain, but it is unusually candid about early-season uncertainty: opening dates for skiing, snowboarding and tubing have not been determined, every operation is condition-dependent, and guests should check again in October or early November and immediately before travel. The current operating calendar shows Snow Summit as TBD and Snow Valley and Bear Mountain closed for lift-served skiing and snowboarding on Thanksgiving Day, then all three resorts as TBD Friday through Sunday. BBMR currently sells lift tickets with November 21 as the earliest possible 2026/27 start date, not a confirmed opening date; if no resort is open for a purchased date, Reservations will contact the buyer with next steps. A valid lift ticket or eligible season pass is required for terrain access, not merely chairlift rides. Snow Valley Snow Play is promoted for Thanksgiving Day and throughout the weekend with advance online tickets, though sessions remain subject to weather and operations. Upper-lot parking is planned to be free and first-come, first-served during the holiday weekend; existing Premium Parking Pass holders may collect passes during operating hours, but the page does not promise reserved spaces or specific lots. Pass pickup requires the purchaser or pass holder to appear at an operating ticket window with valid physical photo ID and proof of age. The resort also plans dining and sport-shop service at open venues. November weather commonly brings daytime temperatures in the 50s to low 60s Fahrenheit and below-freezing nights, but the event page explicitly avoids promising natural snow or skiable terrain. This is a public resort weekend rather than a competition: there are no divisions, podiums, livestream or standalone event registration. Big Bear is a core Inland Empire mountain destination for Los Angeles riders, roughly 100 miles east of downtown LA, and the three-resort footprint is included because lift-served skiing and snowboarding require mountain terrain unavailable in central Los Angeles.
