About this event

CoreNation returned to Bear Mountain on Saturday, February 14, 2026, bringing a heavy rail jam to "The Scene" in the base area for a full day of community riding and fundraising. CoreNation is a traveling US rail-jam series founded by pro snowboarder Erik Leon (Core Snowboarding) that rolls into resorts to build awareness and raise money for local youth outdoor non-profits. The jam format is open to both snowboarders and skiers and is deliberately community-first: instead of rewarding only the hardest tricks, CoreNation hands out prizes to the riders who bring the best energy and style, and nearly everyone leaves with something. The 2026 edition at Bear Mountain was presented by The North Face and hosted by Big Bear Mountain Resort, with product support from Arbor, Crab Grab, Yeti and Flux. The day ran on a set schedule: rider check-in and registration on the sun deck from 9:00-10:30 AM, a riders meeting at 10:45 AM, a practice jam session, then the main rail jam in a 20-minute-per-feature format, a final heat on two select features from 1:00-1:30 PM, and an award ceremony at 3:00 PM. The competition was capped at 50 riders of all ages; every competitor needed a valid Bear Mountain lift ticket or season pass to ride, and rider registration opened in February. Spectating was completely free — anyone could post up in the base area and watch the session unfold and feel the atmosphere. Competition winners took home prizes including The North Face kits, Arbor snowboards, Flux bindings and Yeti coolers/bottles, while a parallel raffle (Yeti coolers, North Face gear, Arbor boards, Flux bindings, a BBMR swag bag and even a Bear Mountain Anytime season pass) drove the fundraising for youth outdoor non-profits. As a jam, CoreNation publishes no formal per-rider podium; results are celebrated on the day and recapped by Core Snowboarding and scene media rather than posted as a scoresheet.
