About this event

Far West Masters schedules a three-day alpine speed weekend at Mammoth Mountain for January 22-24, 2027. Friday has two super-G races, Saturday has two super-G races, and Sunday has one giant slalom; the first super-G on Friday and Saturday is scored for the National Speed Series (NSS). The organizer currently lists the disciplines and dates, but race venue/course, training or inspection windows, check-in, communications, entry fees, entry deadline, lift-ticket arrangements, start times, awards and daily finish times are still TBA. Registration is not yet open: the first-party schedule says it opens in November 2026 and explicitly says there are no day-of-race signups. Do not travel expecting to enter at the hill. Far West Masters says racing is open to skiers age 18 and older, from beginners through former World Cup athletes. A current U.S. Ski & Snowboard Alpine Master membership or eligible short-term Alpine Master membership is required; racers doing more than one Far West weekend must also join Far West Masters. Current organizer pricing lists Far West dues at $20 through November 23, then $25, and U.S. Ski & Snowboard Alpine Master membership at $144; those are membership costs, not this event's still-unpublished race fee. The current registration guide says online registration is through Masters AdminSkiRacing, typical early entry is Sunday before racing with a $5-per-race late fee afterward, typical final entry/cancellation is 7:00 PM one or two days before the first race, and each entrant must appear on the closed start list. Event-specific deadlines will control when posted. A FIS-certified race helmet marked 'Conform to FIS Specifications RH 2013' is required; helmet cameras and projecting attachments are prohibited. Far West rules defer to the current U.S. Ski & Snowboard Alpine Masters Competition Guide for full super-G and giant-slalom equipment/course requirements. The organizer warns that weather or snow conditions may change the program and says cancelled races are not charged. Check the live schedule, registration portal, registered-competitor email/text updates, Mammoth operations and the eventual race flyer before departure. The retained image is a current exact first-party schedule-row capture showing Jan. 22-24, Mammoth Speed Races, SG/SG plus Sunday GS, NSS scoring, November registration opening and the no-day-of-race warning.
