About this event

Freedom Park BMX Raceway hosts its 2026 Race for Life benefit race in Camarillo on Thursday, October 1. A same-day first-party update re-confirms sign-ups and open-track practice from 5:00 to 6:30 PM, with racing at 6:30 PM. The organizer now states that all event entry fees will be donated to the cause and every rider will receive a certificate award. This USA BMX Foundation event supports blood-cancer patients and research; the current graphic identifies Blood Cancer United, while the organizer caption also uses the organization's former Leukemia & Lymphoma Society name. Riders can also create an optional fundraising profile at USABMXRFL.org and should select Team Freedom Park BMX. The organizer says racers can earn additional prizes based on the amount of donations they bring in. No fundraising minimum, donation tier, prize list or team-specific cutoff is published, so fundraising is encouraged but is not represented as a condition of entry. Race participation remains walk-on at the track. The USA BMX Foundation says Race for Life is one of the few USA BMX events where a current membership is not required to try BMX; Freedom Park requires either an active membership or a one-day waiver, signed by a parent or guardian for minors. The exact October 1 fee still is not published. Freedom Park currently advertises $15 for ordinary race nights, but racers should confirm before assuming that amount applies; the organizer does confirm that whatever entry fee is charged for this event will be donated. Riders need a structurally sound bicycle with working brakes and enclosed grips, an approved bicycle helmet, closed-toe shoes and comfortable riding clothing; long pants and long sleeves are listed by the track. E-bikes, motorcycles, training wheels, freestyle pegs, kickstands, chain guards and reflector brackets are prohibited. No rental equipment is currently available, though the track-side shop sells BMX bikes, helmets and race gear. The outdoor dirt track can close for rain, wind or repairs, sometimes for days after weather passes, so check @freedomparkbmx before travel. Freedom Park provides parking, restrooms, bleachers, drinking fountains and a snack bar. No event-specific spectator price, capacity, final race time, closing time, moto list, livestream or results link is published.
