Whittier Narrows BMX Beginner's League - Fall 2026

Whittier Narrows BMX's Fall 2026 USA BMX Racing League gives brand-new riders a structured path from their first coached laps to their first open race. The South El Monte program starts Saturday, October 24 and combines five beginner-only instruction and celebration sessions with a November 28 race-day finale. Sessions are usually Saturday afternoons from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, with one Friday evening lesson on October 30; the official track page lists race-day activity from 5:00 to 7:00 PM after a 2:00-4:00 PM registration window. Licensed USA BMX coaching covers track confidence, bike handling and race fundamentals in small groups. Youth registration is $149 for boys and girls ages 3-17; a $109 adult parent-rider option is also active. Tuition includes a league jersey, Mongoose BMX Racing League number plate, trophy, awards-and-pizza celebration, J&R Bicycles swag bag, free loaner bike and helmet use, and a full one-year USA BMX membership for new riders. This is a true first-timer program, not extra training for established racers: participants must be able to ride a pedal bike independently, and riders with an active or expired USA BMX Full Membership are ineligible; Balance Bike, STACYC and one-day memberships remain acceptable. Registration is live through USA BMX/RedPodium and closes at 11:59 PM on October 24, the night of Week 1. Loaner equipment is first come, first served, so register early and tell the organizer what is needed. The outdoor dirt track is weather-sensitive. Numeric capacity, waitlist details, refunds, make-up sessions and a rain schedule are not published; the program FAQ says missed sessions have no make-up option.
