Golden State South Interscholastic Cycling League brings its third 2026 mountain-bike festival to Midland School in Los Olivos on Saturday, October 3 and Sunday, October 4. Saturday combines volunteer setup, festival games, the GRiT girls-and-women program, official course pre-ride and a community potluck; Sunday is cross-country race day for season-registered grades 5–12 student-athletes. The current live guide says volunteer shifts start at 9:00 AM Saturday, festival activities run 11:00 AM–3:00 PM, Pit Zone and plate pickup open at noon, and registered-rider pre-ride runs 3:00–5:00 PM with a 4:30 PM last call. The organizer’s September 29 update adds GRiT rock painting at 1:30 PM and a one-mile GRiT ride at 2:00 PM. Sunday pre-ride and plate pickup open at 7:00 AM, the mandatory head-coach meeting is 8:00 AM, racing runs from 9:00 AM to about 2:00 PM, and the guide contains both a 2:30 PM podium marker and a 3:00 PM Spirit of NICA awards/podium marker. Racer registration was included in the 2026 season fee and closed Tuesday, September 29 at 11:59 PM PDT; the organizer does not announce late or day-of first-time racer entry. Separate primitive camping remains listed in stock at $50 per vehicle for one or both nights, with Friday-before-sunset or Saturday-morning arrival. The rural Midland course uses farm roads, doubletrack and oak-country singletrack; the narrative calls it about 4.3 miles with 230 feet of climbing, while the live wave table labels a lap distance of 5 without a unit. Midland School is about 130 road miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles and serves GOSO teams from Santa Maria through San Diego.

Southern and Central California student-athletes in grades 5–12, including homeschool, charter and private-school students, who are registered with Golden State South for the 2026 season. A student cannot participate in more than one NICA league in the same calendar year. The race course is closed to anyone without a student, coach or league-staff plate during official pre-ride.
