The Vail Grail 2026 — 4 & 8 Hours of Temecula + Vailocity Enduro

The Vail Grail is Team Big Bear’s two-day mountain-bike race weekend at Vail Lake Resort in Temecula on November 14–15, 2026. Saturday combines the 4 & 8 Hours of Temecula timed-lap endurance race with the Vail Voltage e-bike race; Sunday is the Vailocity Enduro. Team Big Bear’s live calendar labels this the new date, and its current Schedule B, general-information sheet and Enduro course sheet all agree on the November weekend. The event is USA Cycling sanctioned. Pros need an annual license; other racers may buy a $15 one-day license during preregistration or at the venue. Saturday’s endurance format rewards the most laps completed before the four- or eight-hour cutoff. Solo racers carry a timing chip on the number plate. Two-, three- and four-person teams use a baton and may rotate riders in any order, while the Family Fun Team accepts two to six racers. Everyone must walk through the transition area. Riders and teams provide their own water, food, mechanical support and pit setup; mechanical help is allowed. Registration and packet pickup run Friday from 3:00–5:00 PM and Saturday from 7:00–8:15 AM, followed by the mandatory 8:15 AM meeting and 8:30 AM start. Four-hour laps must be finished before 12:30 PM and eight-hour laps before 4:30 PM. Sunday’s Vailocity Enduro is now defined as a three-stage race on Ladders, Spiralis and Ranoa Flow. The course opens for practice at 8:00 AM, registration/packet pickup runs until 10:30 AM and racing starts at the top at 11:00 AM. E-bike, women’s, open, pro/expert and masters classes start on Stage 3; hardtail, collegiate and men’s sport/beginner classes start on Stage 2; junior classes start on Stage 1. Every group then rotates through all three stages in the organizer’s published order. Awards are three deep and follow the last race. Both live ACTIVE listings are open. The Saturday checkout currently exposes solo, team, family and junior 4/8-hour categories from $135 to $330 before ACTIVE fees; the Sunday checkout exposes 36 enduro categories, including four e-bike and fourteen junior categories, at $85 before the $7.68 ACTIVE fee. The Saturday page title and Team Big Bear documents still advertise the Vail Voltage e-bike endurance race, but the controlled checkout does not currently expose a separate Saturday e-bike category. That is not treated as closed: riders should ask Team Big Bear whether it uses an on-site or organizer-assisted entry path. Vail Lake Resort charges a vehicle entry fee currently listed as $15 per car per weekend day or $10 per weekday, subject to change. Camping is available through the Temecula/Vail Lake KOA and the organizer warns that sites can sell out. Spectating does not require a race ticket, but the resort vehicle fee still applies. No livestream, numeric rider capacity, waitlist, online registration deadline, weather cancellation trigger or exact Sunday finish time is published.
