About this event

Santa Monica Pier's October Locals' Night celebrates 50 years of Dogtown and the Z-Boys on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 3:30-10:00 PM PDT. The free, all-ages program places skateboarding at the center of a larger Pier community night: Beyond the Board runs a temporary skate ramp from 3:30-7:30 PM, original Z-Boy Tony Alva plays a live vinyl DJ set from 6:30-7:30 PM, and the Stacy Peralta documentary Dogtown and Z-Boys screens outdoors from 7:30-9:00 PM before Cycotic Youth closes the night. Riding the ramp is not drop-in access: each skater must reserve the free Skate Ticket in advance through the live Eventbrite flow and sign the event waiver. General Chair and Drive-In Car tickets are also free, first-come options; drive-in cars load from 3:30-5:30 PM, should arrive before 6:00 PM, and cannot leave until the film ends at 9:00 PM. General-chair guests bring their own blanket or chair. Outside food and nonalcoholic drinks are allowed, but outside alcohol is prohibited; an on-site bar is planned for guests 21 and older. Other confirmed programming includes Books & Cookies storytime, a classic-car meet and DJ, salsa lessons, live Latin music, local vendors and cheer performances. The Pier is fully open during bridge construction, but traffic and parking patterns can change. General-seating guests are directed toward Beach Lot 1 North at 1550 Appian Way or nearby public lots; Metro's Downtown Santa Monica station is about a 10-minute walk, buses stop near Ocean and Colorado, rideshare users should use 1550 Appian Way, and bikes may use the Marvin Braude trail and enter the Pier. Accessible spaces are in Lot 1 North near the public elevator at 301 Santa Monica Pier, with additional accessible spaces and ramps from Lot 1 South. The organizer publishes no skate-ramp skill divisions, protective-equipment rule, rider capacity, minor/guardian waiver procedure, weather plan, or ticket inventory count; check the live ticket page before travel.
