About this event
Thrasher Thursdays is Los Angeles Public Library's weekly teen skate-video screening series at Teen'Scape inside Downtown Los Angeles Central Library. The current first-party listing invites teens to watch the latest skateboard videos from Thrasher Magazine alongside skateboarding classics from the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s. The fall series began September 17; nine future one-hour sessions remain explicitly listed as of October 11: October 15, 22 and 29; November 5, 12 and 19; and December 3, 10 and 17, each from 4:30-5:30 PM local time. The official page's recurring header says the program continues until January 6, 2027, but it currently publishes no December 24, December 31 or January 6 occurrence, so TrickBook does not infer those dates. The event is a film/community gathering, not a skate session or contest: do not bring a board expecting to ride inside the library, and no athlete appearance, live demo, premiere title, giveaway or Thrasher staff participation is announced. The page targets teens but does not state an exact age range, guardian rule, capacity, RSVP, ticket, fee, arrival/check-in process, food policy, or recording policy. The current page shows no registration or ticket action; confirm availability with Central Library at 213-228-7000 if traveling for a specific date. Central Library is open Thursdays until 8:00 PM. LAPL says the building is fully accessible, with ramped Flower and Fifth Street entrances, and asks visitors requesting disability-related accommodations to call 213-228-7430 at least five business days ahead when possible. The library does not own public parking; it offers validated rates at the independently operated 524 South Flower Street garage. A valid LAPL card is required for Information Desk validation, and the current published after-3:00-PM validated rate is $1 flat through library closing, subject to change. A, B, D and E rail lines and many downtown buses stop nearby; check LA Metro and DASH before departure. The October 2026 LAPL artwork is a material freshness upgrade over the September asset: it is larger, visually distinct and still shows an airborne skateboarder beside 'Thrasher Thursday' lettering. The byte-identical current art is retained on TrickBook-controlled storage with attribution.
