About this event
Mammoth Mountain's 2026/27 USASA Unbound Series races head to head on Tuesday, February 23, 2027, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM in BoarderCross and Ski Cross 1. The exact organizer page welcomes all ages and skill levels for friendly competition and a chance to qualify for the USASA National Championships. Skiers and snowboarders need current USASA membership, an underlying US Ski & Snowboard membership and active health insurance. The $93.50 event entry is separate from required lift access; registered athletes can email series contact Rocki Lundquist with registration verification for a race-lift-ticket purchase link. Mammoth also publishes an official practice day Monday, February 22, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, but has not stated whether practice has a separate fee or is mandatory. For skier and boardercross events, registration closes one week before practice, making February 15 the published-rule deadline unless capacity is reached sooner; the exact cutoff time is not posted. A capacity sellout opens a waitlist, and riders are charged only after admission. Late entries are not accepted, and no on-site signup is promised. Public LiveHeats currently shows only completed prior-season events, so TrickBook marks entry not yet open rather than closed. The exact Unbound course, practice blocks, inspection, heats, seeding, advancement, start lists and medal time remain TBA. Check-in is by Zoom the night before competition, with the link and bib instructions posted in the official Team App; start lists, results and weather changes also flow through Team App and LiveHeats. Coaches must register and check in at Team HQ between Broadway Express and Discovery Express for venue credentials. The published address anchors Main Lodge at 10001 Minaret Road; the exact course and athlete meeting point are not named. Winter parking is free where signed and first come, and free resort/town shuttles normally serve Main Lodge subject to conditions. Helmets are mandatory, and Ski Cross athletes specifically need hard-eared helmets; a valid lift ticket or season pass is also required. Events can change for weather, conditions or scheduling conflicts. This listing uses the narrow Mammoth regional exception because its official USASA qualifier provides a destination cross course and competitive pathway unavailable in core Los Angeles.
