2026 Mount Laguna Trail Fest

SDMBA's Mount Laguna Trail Fest is a three-day mountain-bike gathering at El Prado Group Campground, about 145 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles. The October 16–18 program combines guided beginner and intermediate trail rides, advanced Noble Canyon shuttles, gravel rides, Ride Pine Flow skills clinics, trail-repair clinics, demos, a Vendor Village, group camping, a Friday movie, Saturday barbecue, live music and a Sunday wrap-up. General Festival Pass registration closed October 11 and the organizer explicitly says there is no walk-up admission; every rider and non-rider attending must already hold a pass. The newly published timetable starts Friday check-in at noon, includes a 3:00–6:00 PM Jenson USA welcome happy hour, a 3:30 PM 15-mile Gravelstoke shakeout, a 7:00 PM night ride and a 7:30 PM movie. Saturday check-in is 8:00–10:00 AM, with rides and clinics from 8:00 AM, four TREK shuttle pickups, a 5:00 PM prize drawing, 5:30–7:00 PM barbecue and 7:30 PM live music and bonfire featuring Elizabeth Bowersox and her band. Sunday offers beginner and intermediate rides plus an adult mini-jump clinic from 9:00 AM, a 10:30 AM shuttle and 1:00 PM pack-up. A separate Trailcraft Collective Noble Canyon Pro Ride runs Saturday 8:00 AM–noon: intermediate riders meet at the Bikes Online booth, pay $50, receive coaching and shuttle service, and sign up inside Trail Fest; it has only 10 places and does not reopen general festival admission. Organized rides otherwise meet at the SDMBA Info Booth and riders should arrive 10 minutes early. The schedule is subject to change, and SDMBA reserves the right to cancel activities for inclement weather or fire warnings. A National Weather Service High Wind Warning covers the San Diego County Mountains through midnight Saturday night. The warning calls for northeast-to-east wind 25-35 mph with gusts 50-65 mph in the warned mountain zone, strongest on mountain foothills, with possible downed trees and power lines, outages and difficult travel, especially for high-profile vehicles. The exact Mount Laguna point forecast is milder at the campground but the broader warning envelope applies; attendees should check organizer and Forest Service updates before departure, secure tents and loose camp gear, and avoid exposed riding if conditions are unsafe. The festival supports SDMBA trail maintenance, new riding opportunities, stewardship, education and access advocacy with the Cleveland National Forest.
