The National Scholastic Surfing Association continues its 2026-27 Gold Coast Conference Explorer season with Event #3 on Saturday, October 3 and Event #4 on Sunday, October 4 at Ventura Harbor's South Jetty / South Beach. Ventura Harbor's exact current event page says competition can begin as early as 6:00 AM both days and confirms that spectators may watch free from the beach. NSSA's live official schedule identifies these as the third and fourth stops of the eight-event Gold Coast regular season. The current organizer shop exposes purchasable Event #3 and #4 variants for all 11 divisions: Men's, Juniors, Boys, Menehuene, Super Groms, Women's, Girls, Super Girls, Longboard, Women's Longboard and Super Seniors. Prices currently display as $95 or $100 per event for ten divisions and $120 per event for Super Seniors; a current annual NSSA membership is required separately. The ordinary entry deadline is Tuesday, September 29 at 5:00 PM Pacific. NSSA says entries after that deadline cost more and are accepted only if space remains, so competitors should register before the deadline and confirm the final amount at checkout. Division age is calculated as of January 1, 2027. Competitors must physically surf six of eight Gold Coast events in their division to qualify for the West Coast Championships, subject to NSSA's published make-up rules. Exact heat draws, check-in windows, running order, finish times and awards timing remain unpublished and can change with surf and weather conditions.
At a glance
Open to current NSSA members in a listed Explorer division; it is not described as invitation-only. Age is calculated as of January 1, 2027. The program includes all-ages adult divisions, youth divisions from 10-and-under upward, longboard divisions and Super Seniors 45-and-up.
