The National Scholastic Surfing Association’s 2026–27 Southwest Conference Explorer season closes its six-event regular schedule with Events #5 and #6 at Oceanside Pier on Saturday and Sunday, February 13–14, 2027. Explorer is NSSA’s all-ages regional competition tier, with 12 current shop divisions spanning 10-and-under Super Groms through open Men’s, Women’s and longboard fields, Super Seniors 45+ and Duke 55+. The official live schedule controls the event identity and dates. At verification, every division product exposed available Event #5 and Event #6 variants: most cost $105 per contest, while Super Groms and Super Girls cost $95. The shop has several label defects that riders must notice before payment: Juniors reverses the official Event #5/#6 dates, Super Seniors labels Event #6 as Huntington Beach, Super Groms has a date typo, and Longboard lists May 1–2 instead of the official February 13–14 dates. Competitors in those divisions should confirm the correct selection with NSSA’s West Coast Conference Director. A current annual NSSA membership is required separately. The regular deadline is 5:00 PM Pacific on Tuesday, February 9; later entry may cost more and is accepted only if space remains. A surfer must physically compete in four of six Southwest Explorer events to qualify for the 2027 West Coast Championships. Watching from Oceanside’s public beach is free; nearby parking is a mix of paid lots, meters and limited free spaces. Exact check-in, contest bank, heat draw, daily start/finish and awards times are not yet published, and dates or locations may change for surf, weather or safety.

Open to current NSSA members in a listed Explorer division; the organizer does not describe the event as invitation-only. Seasonal age is determined as of January 1, 2027. A competitor must physically surf four of the six Southwest Explorer events to qualify for the 2027 West Coast Championships; the live schedule describes limited make-up options through Gold Coast Explorer events.
