Mammoth Mountain opens its 2026-27 winter season with first chair, the annual banner breakthrough, Woolly, and a toast to winter at the bottom of Broadway Express. The official event runs 8:30 AM-4:00 PM on November 13. A lift ticket or valid pass is needed to ski or snowboard; lodging and lift-ticket offers are separate products and are not event registration.

26/27 Opening Day at Mammoth Mountain

Mammoth Mountain’s December Ripping Over 50 camp is a six-day ski and snowboard progression and wellness program for adults age 50 and older. The December 6–11, 2026 session begins with a six-hour indoor health-and-fitness training, then moves on snow for up to five instructional hours per day, paced to individual goals. The second day—the first on-snow day—includes continental breakfast, and the camp closes with a final-day celebration. December’s theme is an Alumni Reunion: returning campers reconnect while new participants join the community. The official live booking flow currently offers separate ski and snowboard products at $1,149 each with Add to Cart; registration closes two days before the start date, so December 4 is the published cutoff date, although no cutoff clock time is shown. Lift access is not included. Mammoth accepts skiers and snowboarders across ten ability levels from beginner through expert, but full-day groups require at least three students. A group below that minimum runs a half day from 9:00 AM to noon instead of the planned longer session. Main Lodge is the base; the exact meeting point is emailed before camp and may move for weather. This is an instructional camp rather than a spectator program. Capacity, remaining seats, waitlist, on-site signup, rentals, daily terrain, instructor roster, exact full-day times and the final celebration time are not published. Mammoth’s general activity-change policy and mountain operations apply, with lift and terrain plans dependent on weather and operating conditions.

Age 50 or older. Skiers and snowboarders may join at any of Mammoth’s ten distinct ability levels, beginner through expert.

Instructional camp; no competition, results or podiums.

Mammoth Mountain — Main Lodge

Mammoth Mountain opens selected lifts early on Sunday, December 6, 2026 exclusively for valid Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass holders. Early Ups begins at 7:30 AM at Mammoth, followed by a complimentary hot breakfast at McCoy Station from 8:00-9:30 AM or while supplies last. The current organizer page also promotes 25-35% lodging savings through its passholder pre-season offer. It expects Broadway Express (1), Stump Alley Express (2), Facelift Express (3) and Lower Panorama Gondola, but every lift, route and opening time remains subject to weather, snow and operations. This is passholder access, not a separately ticketed public event: Mammoth provides no RSVP, event checkout, capacity count or guest-ticket offer. The page explicitly names Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass; Ikon Session Pass is not represented as eligible, and Ikon's current benefits page says Session Passes do not include first tracks. December 6 is outside the published 2026/27 Base Pass blackout dates, although each attendee should confirm active access in their own account before travel. No age floor, guardian rule, beginner restriction or formal guided program is posted; participants must independently use open terrain appropriate to their ability. Main Lodge is the published event address and parking anchor, while breakfast is uphill at McCoy Station. Mammoth's free Main Lodge parking shuttle is scheduled from 7:00 AM, and the free ESTA Red Line normally serves Main Lodge from 7:00 AM, subject to the winter operating schedule. Arrive before 7:30 with the physical or activated eligible pass, winter equipment and enough time for parking. The exact current event page uses a 2400x1350 sunrise image of groomed snow and chairlifts; it was visually reviewed and copied unchanged to TrickBook-controlled storage. Mammoth is beyond the ordinary LA radius and is included narrowly as a major destination-mountain first-tracks event for Southern California skiers and snowboarders.

Noncompetitive independent skiing and snowboarding during an exclusive early-access window. No heats, scoring, divisions, awards or results.

Private event for current Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass holders. The organizer does not publish an age minimum, skill restriction, guest exception or transferable event ticket.

Noncompetitive passholder first-tracks session; results, podiums, scoring, livestream and replay do not apply.

No sanctioning body; official Mammoth Mountain passholder event

Mammoth Mountain brings its long-running Night of Lights holiday celebration back to Canyon Lodge on Saturday, December 12, 2026, from 5:00–10:00 PM PST. The free, family-oriented evening is centered on a fireworks spectacle over the snow, with live music, festive activities, and holiday atmosphere at the Canyon Lodge base area. Mammoth’s current event page names kids activities in its page metadata but says the detailed 2026 program will not be published until November, so exact activity names, age or height rules, performer lineup, fireworks time, concessions, premium-viewing inventory, and transit hours remain honestly unannounced. General admission is free and the organizer publishes no RSVP, capacity, or event-entry waiver. This is a spectator celebration rather than a public ski or snowboard competition; a lift ticket is not identified as necessary for the free evening event, while any daytime skiing or snowboarding is a separate resort product subject to current lift access, operating hours, mountain conditions, and standard resort rules. Canyon Lodge is at 1000 Canyon Boulevard. Mammoth’s standing winter access guidance says general Canyon Lodge parking is free but can be limited or altered by snow removal and storms; the free Village Gondola and Eastern Sierra Transit Authority town service are alternatives, but event-specific 2026 routes and hours are not yet published. Accessible parking is at the southwest corner of the Canyon Lodge lot, and wheelchairs are welcome on the Village Gondola when guests can embark and disembark independently or with a companion’s assistance. The resort marks the event and programs subject to change. Check the exact event page and mountain status before the roughly 310-mile Southern California destination trip.

The organizer invites the whole family. No event-specific age, residency, membership, invitation, or qualification restriction is published for general attendance.

Non-competitive celebration; no results apply.

Mammoth Mountain's New Year's Eve celebration runs Thursday, December 31, 2026 from 6:30-9:30 PM PST at The Village at Mammoth, building to a family-friendly Village Firework Spectacular at 9:00 PM. Mammoth frames the evening as a destination-resort celebration for skiers, snowboarders, families and friends ending a day on the mountain, with signature dining options for an early toast or a later night out. The current first-party page and Event structured data confirm the date, three-hour event window, address, coordinates and 9:00 PM fireworks. They do not yet publish the activity lineup before the show, dinner venues or seating times, admission rules, ticket tiers, capacity, age/guardian rules, accessibility footprint, livestream, or weather/cancellation procedure; the organizer explicitly says to check back for event details and tickets. Accordingly, TrickBook does not label entry free, sold out or closed, and does not reuse prior-year dinner or party inventory. A lift ticket is not identified as an event-entry requirement, but skiing or snowboarding earlier in the day remains a separate resort product subject to lift access, conditions and operating hours. The Village has both free two-hour spaces and paid general parking, plus access to Mammoth Lakes' free town shuttles. Overnight parking is prohibited in Mammoth lots during winter. Guests should review the final event page, mountain report, road conditions and transit hours before the roughly 310-mile Southern California destination trip. The retained feature image is the exact current event-page hero: a 1920x1280 night photograph of fireworks over a crowded, holiday-lit Mammoth Village; its underlying file is older promotional imagery and is not represented as a photograph from the 2026 edition.

Published as family-friendly. No age, residency, membership, invitation or qualification restriction is currently listed.

January’s named focus is June Mountain Day: one camp day travels to nearby June Mountain to explore different terrain and gain a fresh perspective, although Mammoth has not published which day, transportation, meeting point or lift-access arrangement. The official live booking flow currently offers separate 3.5-day ski and snowboard products at $849 each with Add to Cart; registration closes two days before the start date, making January 23 the published cutoff date, with no cutoff clock time shown. Lift access is not included. Mammoth accepts skiers and snowboarders across ten ability levels from beginner through expert, but full-day groups require at least three students. A group below that minimum runs a half day from 9:00 AM to noon. Main Lodge is the base; the exact meeting point is emailed before camp and may move for weather. A group below that minimum runs a half day from 9:00 AM to noon. Main Lodge is the base; the exact meeting point is emailed before camp and may move for weather. The page explicitly gives three-hour indoor training to January, March and April while its dated camp list offers January, February and April, so February’s indoor-session duration is left TBA rather than inferred. This is an instructional camp rather than a spectator program. Capacity, remaining seats, waitlist, on-site signup, rentals, daily terrain, instructor roster, exact full-day times, the heart-health session agenda and the final celebration time are not published.
