About this event
The Sugar Bowl Freestyle returns to Royal Gorge Cross Country on Friday, January 29, 2027, from 9:00 AM. It is a CNISSF (California Nordic Interscholastic Ski Series) middle school and high school cross-country ski race, bringing the region's young Nordic athletes together on Royal Gorge XC's new race courses — the same courses being planned for U.S. Junior Nationals in 2028. The race is held on dedicated race courses and will not impact recreational ski trails, making it a great opportunity for spectators to come out, watch, and cheer for the region's burgeoning Nordic skiers.
