San Diego World Skate Challenger & USARS Scootering 2026 Nationals
About this event
The 2026 USA Roller Sports (USARS) Scootering National Championships doubled as a World Skate Scootering Challenger, staging four days of elite, junior, intermediate, and beginner freestyle scooter competition at the YMCA Krause Family Skate & Bike Park — better known as Clairemont Skatepark — in San Diego from August 13 to 16, 2026. Billed by the organizer as the final major event of the 2026 season and a Third-Tier USARS ranking event, it combined Park and Street competition across beginner, intermediate, junior, women’s and men’s divisions, with the men’s and women’s categories counting toward World Skate rankings. Park riders took two 45-second runs (best run counts, scored out of 100) on the park’s bowls and transitions, while Street used a 2/2/2 jam format on the park’s rails, ledges and banks. Roughly 113 athletes registered across nine divisions, and Liveheats published complete results: Revin Cachat won Men’s Park ahead of Taj Shambrook and Bastian Brey, Caleb Bannister took Men’s Street over Jack Walsh and Kai Martin, and Kornel Konopko won the 26-rider Junior Park division. The event is directly relevant to Los Angeles-area scooter riders because sanctioned freestyle-scooter competition is scarce in Southern California, and this national championship was staged at a purpose-built regional skatepark roughly 120 miles south of central Los Angeles. This is a completed event: registration is closed and results are final.
At a glance
Open to freestyle-scooter riders meeting each division’s age and skill requirements. Men’s and Women’s divisions were 12 and older; Junior was ages 12–17; Beginner Park And Intermediate Park/Street Were Skill-Based Classes for ages 14 and under. Age was counted as of the first day of competition for the lower limit and the last day for the upper limit. American riders needed a valid USARS membership (plus SafeSport for 18+); international riders needed NGB standing and a World Skate Infinity profile.
