62nd Annual New Year's Eve Concert & Torchlight Parade 2026
About this event
Snow Summit's 62nd annual New Year's Eve celebration runs from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Thursday, December 31, 2026. More than 200 skilled skiers and snowboarders will descend the mountain with torches before a grand snowball drop, while the base-area program includes a concert, live entertainment, food and drinks, and family activities. Admission to the parade viewing area is free and open to the public, with no advance registration or event waiver required. The public page does not offer registration for the torch-bearing descent, so it should be treated as an organizer-selected performance rather than an open participation opportunity. Snow Summit will operate for daytime skiing and snowboarding from 8:30 AM and closes on-snow operations at 8:00 PM to prepare for the parade; lift access is a separate paid product and is not required for the free viewing area. Snow Summit is Southern California's major lift-served mountain venue roughly 100 miles from central Los Angeles, making this annual alpine spectacle regionally relevant where no urban equivalent exists.
