About this event
The SoCal High School Cycling League hosts its 2027 sleepaway mountain-bike camp in Big Bear Lake from July 11 through July 16 for riders ages 10–17. Campers ride varied mountain terrain with experienced coaches and take laps at Snow Summit Bike Park, alongside kayaking, bowling, swimming, ropes courses, games, alpine slides and ice-cream runs. Two simultaneous programs separate ages 10–11 from ages 12–17; each is further divided by skill and fitness, with its own facilities and coaching team. Riders may bring one bike. Downhill bikes are not permitted, and the organizer recommends a mid-travel full-suspension or enduro-style bike capable of all-day varied terrain. Full-face helmets and pads are required for bike-park sessions. Lodging uses bunkhouse rooms in the main lodge, with separate boys’ and girls’ areas and supervised room arrangements. Parents may not join rides unless they are vetted and trained camp coaches. The organizer says registration opens December 1, but has not published an opening time, price, capacity, deadline, refund/cancellation terms, public waiver, guardian-signature workflow, check-in/out times, travel plan or accessibility accommodations. Sample schedule and menu files are planning references, not guaranteed 2027 itineraries. Contact camp director Brandon at brandon@socalyouthcycling.org before booking travel if unresolved details matter.
