About this event
STOKED's Los Angeles Art Auction is a free, one-night exhibition, reception, live auction and music gathering at The Pit in Atwater Village, built around the skate, snow and surf nonprofit's youth-mentoring work. Fifty artists contribute work, including major skateboarding photographers and artists such as J. Grant Brittain, Glen E. Friedman, Atiba Jefferson and Brian Lotti. The doors/program window runs Saturday, October 24 from 4:00 to 9:00 PM PDT; STOKED says the room will include live art auction activity, music and a short explanation of the coaches the night funds, but no minute-by-minute program has been published. Admission is free through an open Humanitix RSVP, with a $40 suggested donation that is optional at checkout. Online bidding opened October 17 at 9:00 AM Pacific and closes October 24 at 11:59 PM; guests can bid in the room or remotely, and auction purchases carry a 5% buyer's premium. Winning bidders can pick up work at The Pit on Sunday, October 25 after the show comes down; shipping outside Los Angeles is at the buyer's expense. This is a gallery/community fundraiser rather than a riding session - no skateboarding, surfing or snowboarding participation is advertised. The organizer has not published capacity, age policy, timed auction lots, event-specific parking, transit, accessibility accommodations, livestream, coat/board storage, cancellation terms or a venue entry policy beyond the free RSVP.
