2027 USA Surfing Junior Championships at Lower Trestles

USA Surfing has scheduled its 2027 Junior Championships for June 15-19 at Lower Trestles in San Onofre State Beach, San Clemente. This is the national-championship culmination of USA Surfing's junior pathway at the same cobblestone point selected for surfing at the LA28 Olympic Games. The organizer's current page confirms the five calendar dates and venue but does not yet publish the 2027 athlete packet, daily first calls, heat draws, registration link, entry fee, cut line, field size, age cutoffs, division-by-day order, livestream, awards time, or weather decision procedure. Registration is therefore marked Not Yet Open rather than closed. USA Surfing's latest published qualification explainer says the prior championship field required the minimum number of Prime events and a top-50-percent finish among eligible surfers, with additional regional-association places; that is useful pathway context but is not represented as the final 2027 rule until USA Surfing posts the new packet and invitations. The 2026 edition drew more than 250 invited surfers ages 10-18 and contested boys' and girls' U12, U14, U16 and U18 titles; those historical divisions are listed as prior-edition context only. Spectating at the public beach is expected to be free, but USA Surfing has not yet announced a 2027 spectator plan or accessible viewing zone. Lower Trestles has no direct public vehicle access: plan for a substantial trail and beach walk from the Cristianitos/South El Camino Real area, and wait for organizer instructions before relying on any event-specific parking, shuttle, bicycle, check-in, or equipment policy.
