About this event
The Venice Surfing Association closes its 2026 contest season with the Venice Breakwater Open on Saturday, October 17, at the Breakwater Lifeguard Tower on Venice Beach. The first-party event page publishes an 8:00 AM start, while LiveHeats currently shows entry open at $35 per division with a maximum of two divisions per competitor. The 11 offered divisions are 8U Paddle Assist or Paddle In, 14U Boys, 18U Girls, 18U Boys, Open Women, Open Men, Open Longboard Men, Open Longboard Women, Masters 35+ Men, Masters 35+ Women and Legends 50+ Men. VSA says entries close at midnight on October 15. Registration requires a LiveHeats account; capacity, waitlist, beach check-in, heat draw, exact division order, event end time, on-site entry, refund terms and any checkout waiver or guardian requirements were not publicly exposed at verification. Spectating is free from the public beach outside the competition area. Venice Beach has county-operated parking and public facilities; the exact event parking plan is not published. LA County lists an April-through-October access mat and free first-come beach wheelchairs, but VSA has not announced event-specific adaptive services. Competitors and spectators should recheck VSA and LiveHeats before travel because surf, weather, water quality and lifeguard operations can change a beach contest schedule.
