About this event
Whittier Narrows BMX brings Retro Revival Part II to South El Monte on Saturday, November 7, 2026, combining sanctioned modern and vintage BMX racing, the ABSA Grand National Year-End Bike Show, a BMX swap meet, vendors, food and a family-focused push-bike championship. The current organizer announcement opens the gates at 8:00 AM. ABSA bike-show sign-ups run 8:00-10:00 AM, while BMX practice, bike inspection and race sign-ups run 9:00-11:00 AM. USA BMX independently lists racing at noon. No finish time is published. The exact organizer poster publishes the full race-class sheet: Modern Racing on 20- or 24-inch bikes (clips permitted); 1990-1999 20-inch; 1980-1989 20-inch; pre-1980 20-inch; pre-1999 24-/26-inch Cruiser; Sidehack; FatBoys; Retro Re-Pop; approved Re-Pop Pro-Am Pre-1999 with 100% cash payback; pre-1999 Age Group Opens grouped after sign-ups; and Big Wheel Bike for 26-inch-and-larger bikes of any year. Organizers may add or split retro classes if enough riders make a class. The Intergalactic Cub House Kids Push Bike Championships, sponsored by Cub House Bike Shop, are also part of the day. Final motos, transfer rules, class sizes and individual start times depend on entries and have not been released. Race entry is day-of at $20 for the first class and $10 for each additional class. A current USA BMX membership is required to ride on the track; qualifying first-time Novice riders may use the sanctioning body's one-day membership process, subject to track approval and completed waiver/guardian paperwork. The current sources do not publish online preregistration, capacity, waitlist, refund terms or a late-entry exception. ABSA bike-show entry is $30 per bike or $100 for four bikes, with sign-ups from 8:00 to 10:00 AM. The announcement promises multiple show classes, awards and a special Vintage Mountain Bike class, but does not publish the final show-class sheet, judging rubric, awards time, capacity, preregistration or refund terms. Vendor and swap-meet spaces cost $25 and must be reserved by direct message to Whittier Narrows BMX; no load-in window, space dimensions, power policy or refund terms are stated. County park parking is $7 according to the organizer. Enter the Whittier Narrows Recreation Area from Rosemead Boulevard near the baseball fields. County materials list parking and restrooms, but neither organizer publishes a dedicated accessible spectator route, seating plan or event-specific transit service. The dirt-track race and outdoor show remain weather-sensitive; check Whittier Narrows BMX social channels before travel because no rain date, cancellation threshold, spectator-admission policy or livestream has been announced.
