About this event
San Clemente’s 25th annual SC Open combines a co-ed youth skatepark contest, an all-ages skateboard-only pump-track time trial, and a free-form community festival at adjacent City facilities in Richard T. Steed Memorial Park. The main contest is for ages 17 and under, split into male and female divisions at 5-and-under, 6–8, 9–11, 12–13, and 14–17. Each skater receives two 45-second runs, with the better run scored for style/artistry, consistency, originality, difficulty, and variety; every registered contest skater may also enter the age-group Best Trick contest. The pump-track race has youth and new 18+ registration listings, two timed attempts per rider, small-track use for ages eight and under, and large-track use for ages nine and older. Although the pump track normally permits multiple non-motorized wheel types, the current event flyer explicitly restricts this race to boards, so TrickBook classifies the whole event as skateboarding only. Live City registration shows 12 listings and remains open, with two boys’ skatepark divisions already at their 10-person capacity and accepting waitlist enrollment. Other available skatepark divisions have 6, 4, 3, 3, 1, or 0 of 10 enrolled; pump-track enrollment is 2 of 50 youth and 1 of 20 adults as verified September 5. The day also includes vendors, food and beverages, live music, face painting, children’s activities, awards, and the winning youth T-shirt artwork display. This Orange County event is inside the core Los Angeles-area inventory region.
