25th Annual SC Open Skate Contest & Pump Track Race 2026
About this event
San Clemente’s 25th annual SC Open combines a co-ed youth skatepark contest, an all-ages skateboard-only pump-track time trial, and a free-form community festival at adjacent City facilities in Richard T. Steed Memorial Park. The main contest is for ages 17 and under, split into male and female divisions at 5-and-under, 6–8, 9–11, 12–13, and 14–17. Each skater receives two 45-second runs, with the better run scored for style/artistry, consistency, originality, difficulty, and variety; every registered contest skater may also enter the age-group Best Trick contest. The pump-track race has youth and new 18+ registration listings, two timed attempts per rider, small-track use for ages eight and under, and large-track use for ages nine and older. Although the pump track normally permits multiple non-motorized wheel types, the current event flyer explicitly restricts this race to boards, so TrickBook classifies the whole event as skateboarding only. On event morning, live City registration still exposed all 12 listings and explicitly preserved on-site registration at 11:00 AM wherever space remained. A current September 13 collaborator post from Sandlot Training Center, displayed on the City of San Clemente Instagram grid, asks who is competing and re-shares the exact official event poster, providing same-week first-party social confirmation. The event-morning inventory showed boys ages 6–8 at 17/10 with WL, boys ages 9–11 at 12/10 with WL, and girls ages 9–11 full at 5/5; the other seven skatepark divisions ranged from 0/5 to 8/10. Pump-track registration increased to 12 of 50 youth and 4 of 20 adults as verified September 19. The City also explicitly preserves on-site registration beginning at 11:00 AM where space remains. The day includes vendors, food and beverages, live music, face painting, children’s activities, awards, and the winning youth T-shirt artwork display. This Orange County event is inside the core Los Angeles-area inventory region.
