About this event

The 2026 California State Games held its youth skateboarding competition at the Magdalena Ecke Family YMCA Skate Park in Encinitas on Saturday, July 18. Check-in opened at 9:30 AM Pacific and remained available throughout the day so riders could arrive nearer their division; competition ran from 10:00 AM through the published 1:30 PM finish. Boys and girls competed in street, mini ramp, and bowl across ages 7 and under, 8-10, and 11-13, with sponsored and unsponsored classifications recorded during signup. Historical entry was $60 per event online through July 16 or $70 per event on site, and every athlete needed the California State Games electronic waiver; because all published divisions were minors, the park also required a parent-signed youth day waiver or skate-park membership ID plus a helmet, knee pads, and elbow pads. The completed record preserves 45 official result rows and 21 awarded category groups, including published scores and medalists, without presenting the stale EventConnect registration page as an active action. Encinitas is outside core Los Angeles but is regionally relevant: the world-known, purpose-built YMCA skatepark is roughly 100 miles from central LA, and the statewide open competition accepted athletes without a published residency or qualification restriction.
