About this event

Exile Oktoberfest brings two days of wave skimboarding to the south side of Balboa Pier in Newport Beach on September 19-20, 2026. It is the final stop of the 2026 United Skim Tour: the professional results close the season and determine the men's and women's tour champions, while a large public amateur program gives riders from age 8-and-under through 50+ a place in the same weekend. Exile's current checkout is live with every published variant available: amateur age and women's-amateur divisions are $60, Semi-Pro is $75, and Pro is $140; entry includes a contest T-shirt. The current organizer page calls the field open to all ages and abilities, with no qualifying for amateur divisions, and allows amateur riders to enter both their age division and Semi-Pro. Competitors must complete Exile's electronic liability waiver and provide emergency-contact details; a parent or legal guardian must execute the agreement for anyone under 18. Check-in begins at the beach tent at 7:45 AM and heats are expected to begin at 8:00 AM, but day-by-day brackets and finish times remain intentionally flexible around surf conditions and professional-division calls. Spectators are welcome free of charge and should stay outside the active competition area. Exile has announced a YouTube broadcast for both days, although exact 2026 watch URLs have not yet been posted. This Orange County event is represented in TrickBook's surfing category under the more precise wave-skimboarding discipline; it is not a conventional surfboard contest.
