The 2026 SLS Downtown Los Angeles Takeover was Stop 02 of the 2026 Street League Skateboarding (SLS) Championship Tour, held Saturday, April 4, 2026 at Ace Mission Studios in the Boyle Heights / Arts District flats along the Los Angeles River in Downtown Los Angeles (Los Angeles County). Presented by Kona Big Wave, the sold-out one-day contest brought the world's premier professional street-skateboarding league back to its Southern California home turf on a custom SLS-certified street course built by California Skateparks — a plaza set of stairs, handrails, hubbas and a bank/ledge configuration staged under the LA River's arched viaducts. SLS runs a Takeover as a fast, single-day, best-trick-style shootout rather than the full multi-round Championship Tour format: the day opened with an Auto Jam "Cash for Tricks" pro skate jam, followed by a Men's Wildcard Jam that fed the top two into the final, the Women's Final, a live musical performance on the course, the Men's Final, and an awards ceremony. In the Men's Final, 16-year-old South Korean Juni Kang — competing in his very first SLS event after earning his spot through the Wildcard Jam — stunned the field, sealing the win with the highest-scoring trick of the day (a 9.5) for a 27.5 total to edge Red Bull's Jagger Eaton (27.0) and Monster's Toa Sasaki (26.2). In the Women's Final, Australia's Chloe Covell continued her Takeover dominance with a perfect 3-for-3 record, posting a 22.9 to hold off Spain's Daniela Terol (19.1), who notched her first career SLS podium at her debut, with Arizona's Paige Heyn third (18.2). Beyond the contest, the Takeover doubled as a celebration of Los Angeles street-skate culture, with vendors, music and a festival atmosphere open to a general-admission crowd. The event streamed live on Rumble and YouTube, where the full broadcast and the Men's Final remain available on replay.
