SoCal Shredfest — 2027 SoCal Youth Cycling Season Opener

SoCal Shredfest is the SoCal Youth Cycling League's community kickoff for its 2027 middle- and high-school mountain-bike season, held Saturday, October 17, 2026 at SkyPark at Santa's Village in Skyforest. The official flyer sets team booth load-in for 7:00-9:00 AM, racer arrival for 8:30 AM, the fun-race start for 9:00 AM, public gates for 10:00 AM and race podium/results for 10:30 AM. The day is framed around riding, community, family and fun rather than a normal points-series round. Teams are encouraged to host activity, recruiting or group-ride booths; each registered booth receives four event entries. SoCal League participants whose team does not host a booth are listed at $25 per person. No separate public checkout, deadline, field cap, race distance, lap count, divisions, awards breakdown, exact finish time or confirmed day-of individual payment process is published. A current October 11 SkyPark Bike Park post, also displayed on the SoCal League Instagram profile, now gives the freshest costume-program instruction: meet behind the Pedal Pub at 1:00 PM for a costumed MTB train ride and costume contest, with no nudity, blood/gore or full-face costume masks. It also tells younger riders interested in an MTB team to visit the SoCal League booth. This current first-party post and SkyPark's event page agree on 1:00 PM; the older Shredfest flyer says 2:00 PM, so riders should follow venue/league day-of direction. SkyPark separately requires paid admission or an eligible pass and a waiver for every guest; the organizer does not say whether Shredfest's $25 or included booth entries replace those venue products. The NWS point forecast for Saturday is sunny, near 64 F, with southeast wind 0-10 mph. A San Bernardino County Mountains High Wind Warning expires Friday evening before the event, so check for lingering road, tree, power or trail impacts before the mountain drive.
