Sun Diego Bash at the Beach — 2026 AM SLAM Finale

Sun Diego Boardshops brings its 2026 AM SLAM finale to Belmont Park and Mission Beach on Saturday, October 17 for a free-to-watch surf, skate and music festival. The surf contest runs 9:00 AM-4:00 PM on Mission Beach, while the $4,000 Pro-Am best-trick skate contest runs 11:00 AM-4:00 PM in Belmont Park's south parking lot. Current first-party posts identify the one-off Keen Ramps course as a 1960s boat converted into a skateable obstacle; the October 11 reveal shows the working build in rider testing while final tweaks continue. Surf entry was still active at the October 15 event-eve check in ten boys', girls', men's and women's U12-U20 divisions, with age calculated as of January 1, 2027. Every surf division is $100 plus the live checkout's $6 service fee. The live STACT backend then showed 25 occupied places and 27 remaining across a current aggregate cap of 52; Boys U16 and Women U20 each had one place left. The backend cutoff is October 15 at 5:00 PM PDT, one day later than the October 14 date still written in its restriction text, so entrants should use the active form immediately and not assume late or on-site surf entry. Skate entry is $50 on site, signup opens at 10:00 AM on event day, and helmets are required; the organizer has not published a field cap, final check-in cutoff, judging format or payout split. Around 11:00 AM, more than 50 participating brands are expected to open a vendor village with games, giveaways and freebies. Roark presents the free music program: The Film Company and Spliff Riff are now announced, with performances beginning at 12:00 PM; individual set order and end times remain unannounced. Spectator admission is free. Belmont Park lists four free public parking lots, though the south lot is the festival footprint rather than guaranteed attendee parking. The event combines an established Southern California amateur surf finale, a custom skate build and a large action-sports festival roughly 125 road miles from central Los Angeles, qualifying as a regional San Diego exception.
