About this event

USA Cycling’s 2026 Gravity Mountain Bike National Championships brought downhill and dual slalom national-title racing to Snow Summit in Big Bear Lake, paired with Round 4 of the Monster Energy Pro Downhill Series. The operational program began Wednesday, July 22 with athlete check-in and Group A track inspection; championship competition ran Thursday through Sunday, July 23–26. The archived BikeReg roster records 612 race-class entries across championship and non-championship downhill and dual slalom categories; that is a division-entry count, not 612 unique athletes. More than 160 riders contested the combined pro downhill finals. Ryan Pinkerton and Kailey Skelton defended the Elite downhill titles, while Kai Burleson and Aletha Ostgaard won Junior 17–18 downhill. Kyle Strait and Jordan Scott won Elite dual slalom. The event also awarded age-group Stars and Stripes jerseys and offered Cat 2/3 novice/non-championship races. This completed-event record keeps the final schedule, historical entry costs and eligibility, official results and recaps, arrival context, and event-specific imagery while intentionally offering no stale registration or ticket CTA.

Who can enter

Downhill title classes covered Junior 11–12 through Masters, with category restrictions varying by age and gender; Elite 19+, Junior 17–18, Junior 15–16, Cat 1 age groups, and Masters categories were published. Dual slalom title classes covered Junior 11–12 through Elite/Pro and Masters 40+, with several Cat 1 restrictions. U.S. citizenship or verified permanent residency and an eligible license were required for national-title classes under the event guide. International riders could compete in the combined Elite/Junior downhill race but were not eligible for the U.S. national title. Cat 2/3 downhill and dual slalom were non-championship races.
