About this event

Western Surfing Association Stop #3 brings the 2026–27 Salt Life WSA Championship Tour to the 9th Street surf break at Huntington City Beach for two full competition days. The regular-season amateur contest is open to anyone who purchases current WSA membership, pays the event entry fee, signs the liability waiver, and meets the selected division rules; it is not invitation-only. The live SurfSignup page currently offers 34 shortboard, longboard, Micro Grom push-in, waveski, and para-surfing divisions from age six-and-under through open and 50+ categories, priced at $90 or $100 per division. Registration closes Wednesday, October 7 at 11:59 PM, and the organizer has not published day-of entry, capacity, or waitlist details, so riders should not count on beach registration. WSA rules use age on January 1, 2027 for the 2026–27 season and require proof of age. Competitors must check in with the beach marshal 15 minutes before their heat; an unclaimed slot can pass to the first alternate at the five-minute warning, with no refund for a missed heat. The exact heat draw, division-day assignments, parking plan, swell guidance, and awards timing have not yet been released. Spectators can watch from the public beach without an event ticket announced by WSA, but should allow extra time for paid City Beach or PCH parking and for travel over sand.
