17th Annual 100 Wave Challenge

The 17th Annual 100 Wave Challenge is a full-day community surf-a-thon at Mission Beach Park in San Diego on Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Surfers of every experience level are welcome to attempt 100 waves in one day while raising money for Boys to Men Mentoring Network; the official event page explicitly says that catching 20 waves is also okay and that this is not a competition. Free registration is open in two categories, Surfer and Surf Angel. Participants can enter individually or with friends, coworkers, family or a community team, create a personal fundraising page and invite others to support their challenge. The organizer describes a $1,000-plus fundraising aim for each surfer, while the current hosted FAQ says participants are encouraged to fundraise rather than stating a mandatory minimum. Donations support consistent mentorship, connection and positive male role models for teenage boys.
