A Great Day in the Stoke 2026

The fifth annual A Great Day in the Stoke comes to the south side of Huntington Beach Pier on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The free, family-friendly gathering centers Black surfers while welcoming BIPOC communities and allies for a day of surfing, wellness, culture, and community. The official destination listing says spectators attend free and that complimentary surf lessons, beach yoga, Double Dutch, and additional activities are planned. The surf competition requires advance registration, but the organizer has not yet published a 2026 registration page, division list, heat schedule, event hours, capacity, or registration deadline. The organizer’s current registration button still leads to its completed 2025 Eventbrite listing, and its LiveHeats account shows only prior editions, so no stale registration link is exposed as an active call to action. General organizer rules describe shortboard, longboard, grom, and beginner competition formats, on-site heat check-in, WSL-style judging, and prize money, but they are not explicitly versioned for 2026 and may change. The event’s stated purpose is to create a safe space for Black surfers to connect and compete, recognize community leaders, provide surf instruction, and gather for an iconic group photo.
