CASL Contest #8 brings the 2026 SoCal Amateur Skateboard League to La Quinta X Park for the organizer's returning Jack-O-Lantern Trophy on Saturday and Sunday, October 17-18. CASL's current October 14 announcement calls it the final Southern California event of the 2026 season and says only the later Nipomo Showdown remains. The dedicated official poster now supplies the previously missing daily program: Saturday Park/Mini Ramp registration opens at 9:00 AM and competition starts at 10:00 AM in this order - Girls, 7 & Under, 8-11, 12-15, 16 & Over, Girls Advanced, then Open Advanced. Vert/Bowl registration opens Saturday at 10:00 AM, with that contest beginning immediately after Park/Mini Ramp in the order Girls Advanced, Open Advanced, Girls, 7 & Under, 8-11, 12-15, then 16 & Over. Sunday Street registration opens at 9:00 AM and competition starts at 10:00 AM in the order Girls, 7 & Under, 8-11, Girls Advanced, Open Advanced, 12-15, then 16 & Over. Finish and awards times are not published. Liveheats entry remains open through Saturday at 9:30 AM PDT for $35 for the first division and $30 for each additional division. Six registrations were visible at the October 15 verification across five divisions; that is a timestamped entrant snapshot, not a capacity limit. The exact poster also confirms day-of registration windows on both Saturday and Sunday, so missing online preregistration must not be read as closed entry: arrive before the listed registration window and confirm any same-day price or payment method with CASL. Entrants use a 2026 CASL membership and complete organizer and venue waivers. CASL welcomes amateur skateboarders across age brackets from 7 & Under through 16 & Over, with Girls, Girls Advanced and Open Advanced options. Current series rules use three judges: standard Park/Mini Ramp and Bowl/Vert divisions receive two 45-second runs, standard Street divisions receive two one-minute runs, and the best run counts; advanced divisions use CASL's published Olympic-style formats. The official poster says all Contest #8 points enter The Boardr rankings database and advertises trophies or medals for the top five in all groups, with overall awards and points toward National Championship qualification. La Quinta X Park is an outdoor concrete park at 46170 Dune Palms Road with street, bowl, transition and pump-track terrain. The City currently lists weekend hours of 9:00 AM-9:00 PM, restrooms and picnic tables, plus ordinary day-pass prices of $2 for residents and $5 for non-residents; those are regular facility terms and may be superseded by event operations. Spectator admission, event-day parking controls, an event participant park fee, exact awards time and livestream remain unannounced. The NWS forecast generated October 15 calls for mostly sunny conditions near 82 F Saturday and sunny conditions near 83 F Sunday with light winds, but the organizer publishes no heat, rain, wind, air-quality, refund or postponement threshold.
