About this event

The WSA Menehune Surf Fest is the Western Surfing Association’s flagship youth surf festival, held for its 15th annual edition (2026 theme: “It’s Bananas”) on Saturday, July 26, 2026, at Goldenwest Street Beach in Huntington Beach, California — Surf City USA, in TrickBook’s core Orange County / Los Angeles region. Presented by the WSA (an official West Coast member organization of USA Surfing dedicated to fun, family-oriented surf competitions), the Menehune Surf Fest is a grassroots, all-day contest built around groms and young surfers, spanning 18 age/gender divisions across shortboard and longboard. The youngest riders (ages 4–9) compete in supportive “push-in” divisions where a parent or coach helps launch them into waves, U10 shortboarders may have an adult coach in the water (no push-in), and older divisions run standard heats from ages 10 through 15. A WSA membership is required to surf in any event, and entries are handled online through the WSA / SurfSignup registration system (registration opened June 8, 2026 and has since closed; the July 26 event has concluded). Beyond the contest, the Menehune fest is a celebratory beach-day for SoCal surf families — a fun, encouraging first taste of organized competition and a feeder into WSA’s West Coast Championship pathway and USA Surfing Prime / USA Surfing Championships qualification. Goldenwest Street Beach is a classic, consistent Huntington Beach break just north of the pier, a short drive from across greater Los Angeles and Orange County.
