Quick n’ Dirty MTB’s 12th Annual Filthy 50+ returns to the San Pasqual Staging Area on Halloween, Saturday, October 31, 2026. The community-focused endurance event offers a timed 52.2-mile route with 3,195 feet of climbing, a 30-mile out-and-back, and a one-mile kids course. Adult starts are 8:00 AM for the 50+ and 8:30 AM for both 30-mile groups; the age-11-and-under kids race starts about 8:45 AM. The long route continues from San Dieguito River Park into Black Mountain Park on a reverse-lollipop layout. Pink flags and red arrows mark the course, and four feed-station visits provide hydration, food, Hammer Nutrition products and self-help mechanical supplies. Trails remain open to hikers, equestrians and other riders, so racers must yield and pass courteously. Live BikeSignup inventory remains open and all four Sign Up controls were still selectable on October 28. Final all-fees-included pricing is now active: $175 for 50+ miles, $155 for the adult 30 miles, $120 for the ages 12–15 school division and $25 for the kids race. The published online windows run into race morning—8:05 AM for 50+, 8:35 AM for both 30-mile groups and 10:00 AM for kids—unless a field fills first; only the kids race explicitly advertises onsite entry. The organizer’s October 18 reminder says to sign up before the event sells out, without publishing numeric capacity or remaining inventory. Early packet pickup is Wednesday, October 28 from 4:00–7:00 PM at Cadence Cyclery Encinitas, 190 N Coast Hwy 101; riders may collect packets for friends or family, food is announced, and Quick n’ Dirty’s October 25 update fixes the Garmin/Thule raffle at 6:00 PM with about $2,000 in total retail value. Race-day check-in opens at 6:00 AM, with a conservative 7:30 AM cutoff because organizer and registration-host listings differ by 15 minutes. Electronic timing, event swag, the Halloween costume party, entertainment, vendors, food sales and a charity raffle support the rider program. Quick n’ Dirty’s current first-party post confirms a $5,000 total cash purse; the established division breakdown is $2,500 each for Expert Men Open and Expert Women Open, paid through fifth. No official finish cutoff, total capacity, current spectator gate policy, livestream or 2026 results are published.

The event advertises electronic timing and results for the adult fields. The kids course is one mile per lap: one Beginner lap, two Sport laps and three Expert laps. The organizer’s former general RFID timing/race-rules URL now returns HTTP 404, so plate placement, timing hardware, shortcut/DNF procedure and tie handling should be confirmed at packet pickup or race-day check-in.

Current organizer reel: 12th Annual Filthy 50+ returns on Halloween

Quick n’ Dirty MTB

The 50+ and adult 30-mile events are age 16 and older. The school 30-mile event is ages 12–15. The kids race is ages 11 and under, with Beginner (one year or less riding/racing dirt), Sport (one to two years) and Expert (two-plus years) skill groups for boys and girls. The 50+ includes open, age, single-speed, drop-bar and bodyweight divisions. No license, qualification or invitation requirement is published.

Final live registration closes by event: 50+ at 8:05 AM PDT, both 30-mile groups at 8:35 AM PDT, and kids at 10:00 AM PDT on October 31. Capacity can close any event earlier; the kids race also explicitly allows onsite entry.

A current first-party organizer post confirms a $5,000 total cash purse. The 50+ Expert Men Open and Expert Women Open divisions each receive $2,500 paid through the top five. The top three in every other 50+ class receive awards; 30-mile awards go to the top three men and top three women. The top three in each kids class receive a trophy. A separate raffle supports San Dieguito River Park Bike Patrol.

The event is upcoming. TBG Event Timing is listed for electronic timing, but no 2026 entries, live timing, results or replay are published yet.

12th Annual Filthy 50+ — Escondido 2026

San Pasqual Staging Area

Quick n’ Dirty MTB brings E-Dirty Cross back to Lake Hodges for its fifth edition on Saturday, December 5, 2026. The e-mountain-bike race runs alongside the separate Dirty 30 and uses the Lake Hodges Boat Ramp as its check-in, pre-ride and start hub. Check-in and course access begin at 7:30 AM, racing starts at 9:00 AM, and awards follow as soon as racing concludes; the organizer has not yet published the course, wave order, lap count, finish cutoff or end time. The announced field includes open men’s and women’s divisions for Class 1 and Class 3 pedal-assist e-bikes. Factory-installed motors and permanent class labels are required, throttles are prohibited, Class 1 assistance must stop at 20 mph and Class 3 assistance at 28 mph. Staff may randomly inspect bikes before racing, will inspect the top three after racing, and may GPS-test the top five on a flat one-sixteenth-mile segment. The current organizer page quotes $60 for Expert, Sport and Beginner entries and $50 for School Boy/Girl entries, with a $10 increase on December 4. It says online registration will remain available until race start, but no current 2026 checkout link is exposed; the old BikeReg destination resolves to a completed 2022 event and is intentionally not presented as active. Registration is therefore marked not yet open rather than closed. The event is a regional Los Angeles-area exception: Lake Hodges is roughly 110 road miles south of central Los Angeles and provides a specialized permitted e-MTB race format and trail venue not available in the urban core. The land manager’s standing public-trail policy normally permits Class 1 and 2 e-bikes but prohibits Class 3, while the organizer explicitly announces Class 3 race divisions; because the 2026 course is still TBA, Class 3 riders should obtain organizer confirmation that the final permitted event route and event authorization cover their category before registering or traveling.

The exact course and lap/wave structure are TBA. Quick n’ Dirty uses RFID-tagged front number plates under its general rules. Riders must start in the registered class, follow the marked course, complete assigned laps and cross the finish with the bike; shortcuts cause disqualification and incomplete laps cause a DNF. E-bike compliance may be checked before and after racing and by GPS speed test.

Class 3 Men Open

Class 3 Women Open

Announced for pedal-assist Class 1 and Class 3 e-mountain bikes with a factory-installed motor and permanent class label. Throttles are prohibited. The page also references Expert, Sport, Beginner and School Boy/Girl price groups, but does not publish their exact mapping to the four open class/gender categories.

Organizer says online registration will be available until the 9:00 AM PST race start, subject to the 2026 registration link becoming available and any capacity limit not yet published.

The race is upcoming. No 2026 start list, timing link, results, podiums, livestream or replay has been published. The organizer says awards will follow as soon as racing concludes.

Quick n’ Dirty E-Dirty Cross — Lake Hodges 2026

Lake Hodges Boat Ramp

Quick n’ Dirty MTB’s Dirty 30 has expanded into Dirty 30 XL — Gravel vs MTB and moved its Saturday, December 5, 2026 start/finish to Orfila Vineyards & Winery in Escondido. Riders choose a drop-bar gravel bike or mountain bike, but the two bike types race together in one published category structure to answer which is faster. The one-lap course is now 37 miles through the San Pasqual area, mixing hard-packed gravel, smooth and rolling fire roads, punchy climbs and technical singletrack. The organizer lists approximately 1,709 of elevation gain without printing a unit, names Raptor Ridge and Mule Trail as connecting areas, says lake-view trails may also be included, and links a current Ride with GPS route. Fully stocked aid stations are announced with Hammer Nutrition and other partner supplies, but the organizer has not published station locations, a finish cutoff or a final course-change policy. Registration and course pre-riding open at 7:30 AM PST, and the race starts at 9:00 AM; wave order, finish time and awards timing remain unpublished. Live RunSignup registration is open at an all-fees-included advertised price of $115. The price rises to $125 after December 3 at 11:59 PM PST, online registration is offered through the 9:00 AM start, and registration by November 22 includes an event T-shirt. The ten published categories are ages 14–15, 16–17, 18–19, 20–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59 and 60+, plus Single Speed 16+ and Big Boned (200+) 16+. Gravel and MTB entries are explicitly combined; separate gender scoring is not stated, even though RunSignup collects gender. Quick n’ Dirty’s standing rules require a helmet, ban headphones and shortcuts, require riders to start in their class and use an unobstructed front RFID number plate for scoring. Registrations are final and nonrefundable. Orfila is the event hub, with vineyard views, food and wine available under the venue’s public operations; alcohol is for guests 21+. The race begins before normal winery hours, and the exact early-entry gate, parking allocation, overflow plan, spectator zones and accessible viewing arrangements are not published. This regional event is about 110 road miles south of central Los Angeles and offers a long mixed-surface course and purpose-built race operation not available in the urban core.

One 37-mile lap mixing gravel, rolling fire road, climbs and technical singletrack through San Pasqual, with approximately 1,709 of elevation gain as published (unit not printed). Drop-bar gravel bikes and mountain bikes race together in the same published category structure. Quick n’ Dirty uses RFID-tagged front number plates; riders must start in their class, follow the route and cross the finish with the bike. Shortcuts cause disqualification and an incomplete assigned course causes a DNF.

Quick n’ Dirty’s two-day 2027 Sagebrush Safari brings cross-country MTB, Class 1 and Class 3 e-MTB, gravel, youth racing, camping and a Saturday community FUNDO to the Lake Morena / Corral Canyon backcountry near Campo. The Saturday FUNDO starts at 4:30 PM and costs $25 with spaghetti dinner included; dinner is called for 6:00 PM. Sunday check-in and on-site registration run 7:30–9:15 AM, followed by the 40-mile gravel wave at 9:20, the 23-mile e-MTB and 31-mile MTB wave at 9:30, the 23-mile MTB wave at 9:35 and a 1–3-mile kids race around 9:50. Podiums follow as racers finish. The long XC route is approximately 31 miles of singletrack, slabs, rock gardens, fire roads, climbs and descents; the shorter 23-mile course serves youth, true beginners and e-MTB. The gravel route is published as 40 miles with about 5,000 feet of climbing.

The official page advertises online entry through race day, on-site entry for an added fee and an online cutoff 15 minutes before racing, but the exact RunSignup checkout currently says registration is unavailable. Registration is therefore not yet open, not closed or sold out. Adult/youth XC and e-MTB prices remain TBD; kids entry is $20 online or $25 on-site. Dry camping is advertised from Friday afternoon through Sunday evening at $30 for one night or $40 for two, with no individual campfires and pack-in/pack-out rules. The event is nonrefundable. Riders must wear helmets, may not use headphones, must follow marked routes and should expect public-road and two-way multi-use trail traffic including motorcycles, quads, UTVs and full-size vehicles.

This is an LA-regional exception roughly 145 road miles southeast of central Los Angeles: the Cleveland National Forest permit, rugged purpose-built backcountry courses, e-MTB field, camping and full youth-to-expert program offer mountain-bike event value unavailable in the urban core. The organizer’s address is a navigation reference rather than the exact start: stop at event signage across from Camp Morena before reaching 28880 Corral Canyon Trail.

Mass-start distance fields use RFID-tagged front number plates. The 9:30 wave combines Class 1/Class 3 e-MTB on the 23-mile course with 31-mile MTB riders, with e-bikes positioned in front; the 23-mile MTB wave follows at 9:35 and gravel at 9:20. Top e-bikes may be GPS-tested and the top three plus random entries may receive equipment inspection. Podiums are conducted as racers finish; gravel awards the top three in each class. The Saturday FUNDO format is TBD.

The 31-mile MTB field is for riders 16+. The 23-mile MTB field includes ages 12–15 and adult/open groups. E-MTB is limited to factory-installed pedal-assist Class 1 or Class 3 bicycles with no throttle. Kids classes are for riders 11 and younger. Gravel classes begin at age 16.

The organizer advertises online registration through race day and a general cutoff 15 minutes before racing. For the Sunday main field that is 9:15 AM PDT. The exact RunSignup checkout is currently unavailable, so registration is not yet open.

Upcoming 2027 event. No entrant list, live timing, results, podiums, livestream or replay is published. Sunday podium presentations are announced as racers finish; gravel awards the top three in each class.

Published single-race pricing is $40 adult, $35 School Boy/Girl and $20 kids, with adult and School Boy/Girl prices increasing $5 on race day; the organizer says advertised prices include fees. Registration is not marked closed: Quick n’ Dirty requires the main field to register online through RunSignup and says online registration closes five minutes before racing, but it has not linked an exact Race #1 checkout or published an opening date.
