San Onofre Surfing Club Annual Surf Contest 2026

The San Onofre Surfing Club brings its multigenerational annual club contest back to San Onofre Surf Beach on October 3-4, 2026. The members-only competition is built around the mellow cobblestone-reef waves and beach culture that have defined San O for generations, with adult and youth entry paths and riders of many ages and skill levels. Online preregistration closed September 27. As of October 1, the organizer still says a few spots remain, but new entry is conditional beach entry only when the rider's division has room: email info@sanonofresurfingclub.org before traveling to confirm availability. The organizer's published beach-entry pricing is $50 for adults and $30 for youth age 17 and under; every competitor must also hold a current 2026 club membership, currently $25 for the calendar year. No refunds are offered. Contestants must be available on the beach before 7:00 AM on both days. The Surf Beach kiosk opens at 6:00 AM, and the club strongly recommends joining the vehicle line earlier because weekend capacity is routinely overwhelmed. Breakfast and lunch are provided for participants; the club's latest event post also invites current members to come cheer and says meals will be served to members both days. The detailed heat schedule has not been published as of October 1 and is expected on the club website, Facebook and Instagram. Spectators do not need a separate event ticket, but ordinary California State Parks day-use access and first-come parking rules apply. This is a Los Angeles-regional surf event because San Onofre is a historic Southern California surf venue about 65 miles south of downtown LA and ocean contests necessarily follow the coast.
